Artist Statement

My practice centers on the transformative potential of space, material, and form, using multi-dimensional installation art to examine how personal histories function as the underlying framework for human memory. Grounded in the belief that the artistic process can serve as a catalyst for emotional restoration, my work approaches creation as an active mechanism for healing—a way to unpack the weight of harmful relationships, preserve fleeting moments in time, and reconstruct a cohesive sense of self.

At the core of my visual language is a deliberate use of abstraction, which mirrors the complex, fluid, and inherently unreliable nature of recollection. Rather than viewing memory as a static archive, I treat it as a heavily layered, fragile, and ultimately ephemeral phenomenon. By fusing abstract forms with personal photographs and recurring symbolic motifs, my compositions bridge the gap between my own intimate experiences and broader collective memories. This synthesis acts as a restorative bridge, actively mending the ruptures between who I was in the past and who I am becoming in the present.

My work spans both two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums, with each dimension serving a distinct conceptual purpose within the physical space. My two-dimensional pieces utilize sharp, deliberate motifs and imagery to capture specific fragments of time, linking past recollections to present-day awareness. In contrast, my three-dimensional structures introduce physical mass, weight, and spatial tension—visualizing the physical labor, patience, and dedicated endurance required to achieve true emotional healing. Together, these immersive installations invite viewers into a quiet, reflective space where vulnerability becomes strength, and where the acts of mending and self-discovery are given tangible form.
